At VFW Post 2680 and Auxiliary, our mission extends beyond honoring military service. Through a wide range of programs, we support veterans, active-duty service members, youth, schools, first responders, and community organizations. These programs reflect our commitment to patriotism, service, education, and community involvement.

Veterans Assistance
Post 2680 works to connect veterans with resources, benefits information, claims assistance, and community support. Whether you are transitioning from military service, seeking VA benefits, or simply looking for camaraderie, we are here to help.
National Veterans Service (NVS)
Accredited VFW Service Officers assist veterans and their families in obtaining benefits earned through military service, including disability compensation, pensions, education benefits, and survivor benefits.
Unmet Needs
The VFW's Unmet Needs Program provides financial assistance to eligible military families facing unexpected hardships during deployment, recovery, or military transition.
Military Assistance Program (MAP)
Supporting active-duty personnel through care packages, morale-building activities, and assistance to deployed service members and their families.

Youth & Education Programs
- Voice of Democracy: A scholarship competition for high school students in grades 9-12. Students record and submit an audio essay based on an annual patriotic theme for the opportunity to compete for local, state, and national scholarships.
- Patriot's Pen: Designed for students in grades 6-8, Patriot's Pen encourages young Americans to explore and express their understanding of patriotism through written essays.
- Teacher of the Year: Recognizes outstanding educators who promote civic responsibility, American history, and patriotism in the classroom.
- Scout Recognition Program: Honors Scouts who demonstrate leadership, citizenship, and community service through their Scouting achievements.
- Youth Activities: The Auxiliary sponsors community youth projects, educational events, and activities that encourage civic engagement and volunteerism.
Community Service Programs
- Community Volunteerism: Members dedicate countless hours supporting local organizations, schools, veterans, and community events. Volunteer efforts include fundraising, mentoring, event support, and outreach programs.
- Buddy Poppy Program: One of the VFW's most recognized programs, the Buddy Poppy honors veterans while raising funds to support veteran welfare, rehabilitation programs, and local assistance efforts.
- Flag Education & Promotion: Promoting respect for the American flag through educational presentations, flag retirement ceremonies, and patriotic observances throughout the year.
- Disaster Relief Support: Supporting veterans, service members, and community members impacted by natural disasters and emergencies through coordinated relief efforts.
First Responder Recognition
- Law Enforcement Officer of the Year: Recognizes exceptional dedication and service by local law enforcement professionals.
- Firefighter of the Year: Honors firefighters who demonstrate outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to public safety.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) of the Year: Recognizes medical first responders for exceptional service to their communities.
